My journey to Italy with Henry Walters Traveling Fellowship started from Venice. Luckily, t was around the time of Venice Biennale. I was able to see many contemporary and modern arts. It was definitely good start for my entire journey in Italy.

The old architectures were everywhere. Staying in Venice gave me so much different sense of location compared to living in big cites in America and Korea. The city itself is really complicated like spider net.(Not even regular shape) There were a lot alleys. I lost my ways many times even though I kept checking my maps. Main reason was there are so many small bridges, which connects the other neighbor.
The shapes of old architectures were fascinating. It was not only about looking from outside of them but also about interior space. The exterior is so bright and filled with full of light from reflection of diverse materials. On the other hand the interior space was really dark and heavy at the same time it was overwhelming from slight light from narrow windows.
