Grad Lab Workshop: Shoot Your Work
Grad Lab, Lazarus Center, 5th Floor
So you make good work but every time you try to document it the resulting image does not do your piece justice. Well, this workshop will cover the basic concepts and techniques needed to make professional photographs of your 2D and 3D artwork. This workshop will focus on developing an approach to documenting work that can be applied with DSLRs and film cameras alike.

Picture book illustrator/authors Selina Alko and Sean Qualls co-illustrated The Case for Loving: The Fight for Interracial Marriage. Their second illustrated collaborative book, Two Friends; Susan B. Anthony & Frederick Douglass by Dean Robbins, came out in January 2016. Their Lunchtime Lecture is on collaboration.

To coincide with Baltimore Innovation Week, the MICA Center for Social Design is hosting an evening public lecture with Suzi Sosa and Spencer Ingram of Verb.
Social impact is dominated globally by the white and privileged. How can we turn this dynamic upside down? How can we empower hundreds of millions of people who want to enact social change in their communities? How do we unlock the resources needed to be effective? In this talk Verb co-founder and CEO, Suzi Sosa, and Director of Entrepreneurship, Spencer Ingram, will talk about how the company is experimenting with models to democratize entrepreneurship, access to capital, and, ultimately, social impact.

Animator/teacher Fran Krause was born in Upstate NY. He created the "Deep Dark Fears" series of comics. He lives in Los Angeles and teaches animation at the California Institute of the Arts. His Lunchtime Lecture is on the origins of the comic.
