Call for Applications 2018 MICA GRAD SHOW Graduate Curatorial Fellows
All graduate students (Post-Bac, MA and MFA) not exhibiting in MICA GRAD SHOW 3 are eligible to apply. Six fellows will be chosen in early November by the lead curators in consultation with Graduate Studies and program directors.
Interested in this curatorial opportunity? To apply, email Erin Jakowski, Associate Dean, Graduate Studies, a letter of interest, 300-500 words, describing your approach to curatorial collaboration and your interest in working with MICA graduate students and guest curators. Send letter as .pdf no later than this Monday, October 30th to ejakowski@mica.edu.

The philosophical background for E-Do's music is to create music for the modern era that can be enjoyed by all and to share it freely in Korea and beyond.
E-Do presents audiences with the traditions of Korean traditional music, known as gugak, as well as modern Korean music, along with an engaging mix of traditional and modern instruments, highlighting the beauty and balance of traditional Korean music. The group’s works include original songs based on traditional music as well as fresh interpretations of traditional repertoires.

Mark Thomas Gibson (b. 1980) is an artist living and working in New Haven, CT. Gibson received his BFA from The Cooper Union in 2002 and his MFA in Painting & Printmaking from Yale University School of Art in 2013. At Yale, Gibson was the recipient of the 2013 Ely Harwood Schless Memorial Fund Award. Gibson is currently a Critic and Assistant Dean of Student Relations at Yale School of Art. Gibson co-curated the exhibition Black Pulp! with William Villalongo, which has travelled from at Yale University to IPCNY and will continue to travel the country. Black Pulp! Was recently reviewed in the New York Times by Holland Cotter. In 2016 Gibson released his first book, Some Monsters Loom Large, with the help of a grant from the Foundation of Contemporary Arts. The book was recently reissued in a second edition in partnership with IPCNY. Mark Thomas Gibson is represented by Fredericks Freiser Gallery, New York, and is currently working on his second book to be released in 2017 with Edition Patrick Frey, Zurich.
