Students will be working with Baltimore City Health Department's Bureau of HIV/STD Services to foster creative, innovative and breakthrough design solutions to remove stigma and build respect and accountability into the sexual health care experience of LGBTQ patients.

You can attend any of these hands-on workshops. You can attend as many as you like or just one. There are no prerequisites. The workshops are not sequential. You can also bring in-progress projects with you to work on. There is no charge for the workshops.
Saturday, September 23 – 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm – Introduction to Electronics: Control and Power
Learn about and use electronics components in simple circuits. Learn to plan your circuits so that they work, and how to build them so they work reliably.

Saturday, September 30 – 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm – Arduino: Control and Automation
Learn to control an Arduino**. Use an Arduino to control motion using a servo motor, and to read from reality using a simple sensor. Automate a system, from input, to processing, to output.

Saturday, October 7 – 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm – LED and Neopixel Extravaganza
Ooh! Pretty Colors! Ooh! Flashing Patterns! Seriously, how much voltage? Even more seriously, how much current? Learn how to choose LED lighting components, how to control Neopixel programmable three-color LEDs, and how to design and implement automated lighting patterns.

Moveable Feast is a Baltimore based non-profit that provides nutritious foods and other services in order to preserve quality of life for people with HIV/AIDS, cancer, and other life-threatening conditions. In addition to home delivered meals, Moveable Feast also provides medical transportation, medical nutritional therapy, and hosts a culinary training program.
