I have always been interested in light as the subject of my work. I have started to conceptualize and think of light as both a medium and subject. In my photographs, I experiment with dated forms of color photography and new forms of digital photography as well, eventually developing this into a more broad investigation involving color/saturation and perceived color temperature of any given space. Now I hope to mary my scientific approach and my aesthetic abilities with a more perceptual reality - including and especially light, color and consequent "mood" or temperature of any space. Today there exists an extraordinary open source culture and unprecedented access to collaboration via the Internet. Given this culture of sharing, a few clicks of a mouse started me on a journey to building via open source coding and electronics, Building a thermal flashlight would open doors to an exploration of the interactive and perceptual aspects of light and move my thinking one step forward.
