Welcome to Graduate Studies at MICA from Dean Karen Carroll, Center for Art Education
We are very excited to welcome all of you to our 2017 summer session. It will be great to see you again if are returning and it is our privilege to welcome you if you are just joining our graduate community for the first time. The summer residencies have a particular quality to them – six very short weeks of very intense, fully packed schedules - morning, afternoon and evening, weekends and yes, some like to work nights too. Everyone seems to share a sense that every moment counts. The MFAST and MAAE programs have their own faculties, courses, and studio locations. Yet, it is the sum of the graduate communities here that contribute to the quality of the experience. There will be opportunities to get to know graduate students in the other programs, including some full-time graduate students who stay on during the summer – so we hope you will take advantage of them. Most of all, we hope that you are rested and ready for a transformative experience.
Looking forward to seeing you very soon!
